What we look for in candidates.

Before we introduce anyone to a household, we put our name beside theirs. These are the things we look for first.

Experience in private service
Time spent in private households, or in hotels and hospitality held to a comparable standard. We look at the quality of each post and how long you stayed in it.
References we can speak to
At least two contactable references from private households or hospitality. We speak to former principals and managers directly, and we never approach a current employer without your agreement.
A complete and honest history
An up-to-date CV with dates that can be checked. A gap is not a problem. An unexplained gap is, so tell us the story. Checks appropriate to the role are made with your knowledge.
Identity and right to work
Valid identification, and either the right to work where the role is based or the documents a visa application will need. We verify these before any introduction.
Qualifications and certificates
Relevant training and current certificates, from childcare qualifications to first aid. They help us place you faster, and we will ask to see them.
Discretion
The households we serve expect privacy as a matter of course. We look for people who have kept confidences before and do not need to be asked.
Presentation and manner
How you arrive, how you speak and how you carry yourself when we meet. That meeting matters as much as the CV, because manner does not survive translation onto paper.
A willingness to be trained
The strongest people we meet are still learning. Through the Training Academy we can raise your standard and your certification, and we look for candidates who welcome that.
